SP.IN sent a statement to government officials last Friday explaining specific problems professional athletes are exposed to concerning the protection of their personal data. The statement was given in the context of the reexamination of German employee data protection law. Main issues were the publication of medical information, the regulations and problems created by the WADA Code as well as the infringements of fundamental rights of athletes by the current, unbalanced Anti-Doping-System.
